Trivial History February 4

Having stuck some pins in my Voodoo Barbie (pins and accessories sold separately) and having had more than 4 hours sleep, I look back at yesterday and laugh (insert evil laugh here) at the whole day...although that bread really is quite light and fluffy!lol

This is a ceremony where newby shepherds are told to gather buckets of porridge (which are really filled with water) and take them up to the hills to feed his starving co-workers. When the poor chappie rocks up, he has the buckets of water dumped over him.

How low can you go? Break out the limbo stick as it's the Limbo Festival in Tobago and Trinidad, which is actually a funeral rite of passage presenting the soul passing into the next realm. Do the Limbo!

Ghost spot-
A hotel in Maryborough,QLD, is home to a family of ghosts. The owners of the hotel in the 1850's grieved the loss of their 2 children and buried them nearby. After the parents deaths, the family of 4 returned to the hotel where they used to keep the patrons company.

Great Aunt Hepzibah's Handy Hints-
For scented clothes when ironing put 10 drops of essential Lavender oil into a spray bottle with 20ml of pure vodka and top with water. Shake vigorously and use on clothes when ironing.

Grandma Mehitabel's Menu-
Yummy Fish Batter.
Mix milk with plain flour till runny, stirring in lemon pepper, dill, pepper, finely chopped onion and parsley.
Coat fish in plain flour then dip into batter. Fry in a hot pan with a little oil and serve with a fresh crisp green salad.
