Trivial History March 21

Happy travelling to those planning to escape in their cars for the Easter break and Hoppy Chocolate Goodness to all!

Today is The International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Read more about why we still need to be reminded to treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves HERE.

1802 Matthew Flinders was introduced to a bay in South Oz that had no name so he went on bended knee and dubbed it Nepean Bay again after some bloke on the Admiralty Board in Old Blighty.

1917 Infamous, wonderful author Frank Hardy, brother to the equally talented entertainer Mary Hardy, was pupped today. Read more about Frank HERE.

1931 The plane the Southern Cloud went missing in a snow storm whilst flying from Sydney to Melbourne. The wreckage wasn't discovered until 1958.

1965 The ABC's kids show The Magic Boomerang began delighting the ankle biters.

1989 In full colour TV The Little Aussie Weeper Prime Minister Bob Hawke snivelled cried as he admitted he was a scumbag mongrel he'd committed adultery (whilst married to one of the most decorous, hard working, upstanding ladies he'd have a snowballs chance in Hell to meet in normal circumstances).

Apologies for the absence of Great Aunt Hepzibah, Great Uncle Rupert, Miss Ed Ma Kate Shun and Grandma Mehitabel ; they are polishing the glass house, mixing martini's in the bath tub, teaching the alphabet song to the chooks and pouring cholesterol goodness into cake tins!
Hope you have a lovely Good Friday!
