Name That....

...Thing!
Hint this week-
  • The lid flips open to have something rather warm-ish popped inside for the main function of this Thing.

No prizes but have as many guesses as you like and you, too, can run amok grinning madly while your name is added to the winner's list.

* Apologies for the lateness of this week's challenge but my PC was having conniptions earlier.

Congrats to Andrew who got it - it's just like a bed-warming pan but on a smaller scale for warming the seats of (horse-drawn) carriages so as the gentry didn't get chilly bottoms (awwwww) when first sitting their rumps in the carriages.

Well done to all who had a go, another will be posted (techies and PC's allowing) next Tuesday.

It's a 'guzzunder'...as in a bed pan that 'guzzunder' the bed...for midnight emergencies and other warm-ish stuff that can be popped inside it.

I reckon Brian knows what it is, but it is a bed warmer. Hot coals or whatever went in and it was moved around between the sheets to warm them.

It's an ashtray or a bed warmer for elves.

Hi,
is it a tortilla warmer

My granny had one of these for the warming of the bed. Coals from the fire were used. As far as I know she never burned the house down.

I knew it was a bedwarmer, but Jahteh is giving elves credit for more brains than they have.
Boggarts invented bedwarmers - they get into bed with their hairdryer on turbo heat, lift the doona up and blast hot air right down to all six of their little brown toes.
Instant and efficient.

I'm calling time early as the PC won't be here tomorrow to post who won.
Andrew got it - it's actually a seat warmer for warming the seats of carriages so the gentry didn't get chilly backsides, but works essentially like small bed warmer.

It's a seat warmer...similar to a bed warmer only smaller...for gentlemen's bottoms, the keeping warm of, in carriages.

Did I make it in time?
