November 13 in Aussie history

History isn't all sunshine and roses; history is life and life has its ugly moments.

1965
WO2 Kevin "Dasher" Wheatley refuses to leave his mate, WO2 Bob Swanston, and is killed. His actions earned him Australia’s highest honour, the Victoria Cross.

1908
Andrew Fisher (or DrewAn to his close friends...maybe) became the 5th  Organ Grinder of the Monkey House PM of Oz.

1964
Talented singer, musician, comedian and radio presenter Richard Fidler was found in the cabbage patch.

1864
European explorers were killed by Aboriginal People who were in turn killed in retaliation.

Proving that if we keep taking "an eye for an eye" we'd all end up blinder to the truth than when we started out.

Might a cuppa tea, a Bex and a good lie down improve our disturbed digestions...?

I'll take the cuppa and a lie down, but I'll skip the bex.
Did the aboriginals do the first killing? I thought they just threw spears and hoped to frighten away the ghosts. (whites)

I'm with River. I had always thought that the first killing was by the European. And yes, cuppa tea and a lie down here too.
Poor Kath.
